About G-Son Studios
G-Son Studios is a historic recording space in Atwater Village, Los Angeles once home to the Beastie Boys, where landmark albums were created during the golden era of hip hop.
Originally built as the Atwater Community Center ballroom, the space has always been a place where people gather. In the early 1990s, it became a creative headquarters for independent music, collaboration, and cultural experimentation.
Today, G-Son continues that legacy as a community-driven event space hosting concerts, art shows, rehearsals, dance classes, and creative gatherings in an intimate 1,600+ square foot studio environment.
This isn’t just a venue.
It’s a place where history was made and where new moments are created.
♬♪ Why G-Son
More than just a venue.
G-Son Studios offers something larger than square footage - it offers atmosphere. With its historic roots, natural acoustics, and open floor layout, the space creates a level of intimacy that larger commercial venues can’t replicate.
Artists perform closer to their audience. Events feel immersive rather than distant. The room carries decades of creative energy, shaping every rehearsal, showcase, or gathering held within it.
When you host your event at G-Son, you’re not just booking a space — you’re stepping into a living piece of Los Angeles music history
